Can i repair my sky dish myself?

Yes you can, I recently hired a repair man but saw everything.He just cleaned up the lbd and checked the wiring.Next time I'll gamble a bit before I spend any money.

final feedback.... I went on the roof, tried to fix it myself by minor adjustments, whilst on the mobile to my wife - looking for guidance when I got a good picture (this did work on a previous occasion about 12 years ago) - but totally lost it ! Lived without Sky for 4 weeks until I could get a professional in - and after all that, he told me it was ineed the trees ! He moved my dish higher about 3-4 weeks ago and it's been perfect ever since ! There are a few morals to this story, I'll let you work them out for yourselves.

Thanks for taking the trouble to answer. Actually, my neighbour is a nurse. Your answer surprises me, because my nursing neighbour told me that the high signal strength proves that the satellite signal is strong, and so nothing to do with trees that are relatively near the dish - he was so convincing that I didn't even mention the tree factor when I wrote in for help. My neighbour has a massive telly... so he must know what he's talking about. Seriously though, I really appreciate your advice - I'll have a go next time I get the opportunity- and let you know how I get on! Much appreciated.
