Mend Citroen Xantia Wont Start Ignition

xantia wont start?

xantia p reg 1.8i wont start with the key when i turn the key not a sound comes form it but when i bump it it will run ?

Paul and Cliff are both wrong I have been a mechanic for 41 years and the circuit connecting the starter motor and spark plugs must be water damaged otherwise your question is beyond me.

Check the low tension wire {thin one} that goes to the starter motor.
