vw transporter?

The thermostat sits in a small plastic housing bolted to the right hand side of the engine block (opposite end from the timing belt cover). the other way to find it is follow the top radiator hose from the radiator down to the first branch, then follow the branch pipe back to the cylinder head, the small housing it attaches to is the thermostat housing.

it is a 19 diesel van no turbo thanks vw transporter m reg and i want to know how to change the thermostat thanks

More info would be helpful eg petrol or diesel engine. the size of the engine cause VW put various engines into this van
