head light switch (Stalk type)?

Unable to get a Head Light Switch stalk type locally side lights,flash,and main beam work but when you switch to dipped head lights they dont work have checked and found problem its the contacts in the switch can it be opened up and contacts repaired so that head lights come on when selected as vehicle has failed on MOT because of this fault
