why wont my central heating come on yet i still have hot water? potterton?

Hi,

I'v a valliant ecotec plus 831,the central heating side is only heating up to 36-40 degrees no mater how far i move the stat up on the boiler,i can use the manual method to heat it up to as far as it will go,so I'm thinking the central heating stat is the problem which will mean a new circuit board,i did over turn it once so maybe this has busted it,any experience owith this problem and advice appreciated,

sounds like you have a faulty motorised valve.
you'll need to do some elecy tests with a meter.
