WHarfedale wh180 usb error?

i had the same problem with ipod. however it works fine with a cheap £10 mp3 USB player so this has become the car player. connecting my iphone over bluetooth works well.

i had my micro sd 2gb card in in, now ive put my 16gb sd card in it, no luck, have reformated it twice to fat32 but still says SDC ERROR... this is gutting! ay ideas?

the head unit will work with a memory stick that has an M2 memory card in it. this is what i use and it has never failed..

prob find that any card over 2gb will be sdhc which will NOT work. same problem with blaupunkt models also make sure formatted in fat 16/32

you must format sd cards to fat format before the stereo will recognise them. i use a micro sd card 8gb with the adapter and the stereo reads it fine, a cheap usb adapter from my local pound shop also works with an sd card in it. fantastic stereo!!

The micro sd cards dont work with the adaptor...but the standard one piece sd cards do...i have a 2gb card and works fine.

I recently got one of these. I purchased a SD card, inserted it, only for the radio to say sd error. Any suggestions??

i can get the usb sticks to work but when i try to use my sony walkman it comes up usb error. I cant understand why? can any one else help?

Hi, I have one of these in my car & it was already in it when I got the car. I had probs with a usb stick until I formatted it in the laptop as FAT, then put the music on & it worked fine ( don't know if it's the solution or just luck but it did work)
My issue now is the person who installed it wired it up wrong without the sockets & I've rear spkrs on front & vice versa. Does anyone have any kind of wiring diagram as I intend to re-wire it & use the pre out into an amp for some subage, vibrate the car a bit lol

I get the same usb error. Not sure why.

Does the stereo take SDHC cards or just normal SD? What's the maximum card someone has mangaged to getto play?

I just bought this unit yesterday and fitted it myself. Haven't tried the USB yet BUT SD cards work like a dream along with the bluetooth etc. I have a 2GB card loaded and it picked up all the folders and songs straightaway. The sound quality is awesome. Why bother with a USB stick that sticks out of the stereo when a big SD card which fits behind the fascia does the same job much more aesthetically. The stereo is an absolute steal for the price, don't know how Argos do it for 50 quid!!

Hi this is the solution to the issue with the USB Error.

I recently bought one of these head units and found that when I inserted a USB it comes up with a 'USB Error'. Well I searched on Google and found others with the problem but no solutions. So I played around and here is the solution that worked for me.

Try lots of different USB Drives. Mine started to work with the forth one I tried. The size doesn't seem to be the issue as I tried a variety of sizes both small and large. But the one that works is a old one I have had lying about for ages (512mb) so it maybe USB 1 it may not be but that is my best guess.

I have been using the USB almost exclusively now without any problems.

I have yet to try the SD MMC Card so I can't comment on how that works.

Hope this helps somebody out because this seems to be so far a great little stereo, if you can find a USB drive that will work with it.

If anybody still has the User Manual for this I would appreciate it.
