Take the cam belt cover off turn engine in correct rotation. On the injection pump sprocket you will see a horse shoe shaped cut out. When the cut out comes to just before 12 oclock.
Look under the fuel filter just above the starter you will have a plastic plug or if its missing a 13 mm hole place a 13 mm dia pin or drill bit and turn the engine a little more while pressing the pin/drill it should pop into a hole in the flywheel. this will lock the engine in TDC then place a 6mm or 9.5mm pin/drill bit in timing pump depending on age and pump, and an 8 mm in the camshaft sprocket.
Once all the pins are in the engine is locked once the belt is removed do not turn the engine. if you need to take pin from crank turn crank back 45% if you dont and you turn it you will bend push rods and or damage valves. If you are fitting a new belt loosen the 3 or 4 bolts on the pump sprocket it will then move a few degrees both ways center it put new belt on tension the belt then retitghen the sprocket bolts. once done remove pins turn engine over 1and 3/4 turns then time it back up the pins should all slid in freely. if they do your TDC Pump timing cam timing are correct. Good luck
