boiler goes onto pump overun after "COLD WATER" IS USED?

Why when I operate the cold water in my house and then turn it off does my flow switch operate and the boiler go into the pump overun cycle to get rid of the heat. We had a load of dirty water through the system thanks to welsh water just before this started

Hi Chris,

Check that there is no air trapped in any of the hot water pipes including shower by opening each one individually. When you turn off the cold tap and the pressure builds back up the water can flow past the boiler flow switch as it compresses the air.
