squeeky brakes?

hi all when i press the brake pedal to slow down im getting like a loud squeel brakes are ok dont need new ones , anybody no how to stop them,its a ford galaxy 2001 y reg

common problem this & an easy fix.you need to take the pads out & put copper grease on the sides & the back,dont put any on the part of the pad that touches the disc,i know that sounds obvious but i know someone who did that & their brakes didnt stop them anymore.all it is is they get a bit dry in there from time to time with all the brake dust flying about.
