Mend Panasonic

does panasonic sc-ht80 have refresh keys??

i once entered the region free hack and it worked but you had to watch the movies iin 4:3 ratio which i didnt want to do and because of the hack didnt allow you to change this option. i was good friends with the retailer and he gave me the number of panasonic customer service. the bloke there gave me a code/ series of buttons which could be pressed to 'refresh' the system and get rid of the region free. i have since lost that code and am unable to find?

anyone have any ideas at all

thanks for your time

Sorry, I don't know of any other reset key sequences.

There's a thread here relating to SAHT80 playability problems.
http://www.greenspun.com/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg.tcl?msg_id=007VX1

Only other issue i'm aware of is that there is a known problem with the model as you say 'being fussy' with discs with very long total track time.

thanks for that but the initialise is written in the manual, thats not actually the refresh keys that i had. i know its a series of 3-4 keys pressed simultaneously with the cd drawer open.

comes up with menu and can reset system from there. it fixed all my laser problems last time guess its just needs it again.

How can a laser read burnt dvd, burnt audio cd and original audio cd but displays 'cant play this type of disc' when an orginal dvd is inserted!

nothing wrong with the laser player is blody fussy about original dvd's!

SC-HT80 is the name of the complete system with speakers
SA-HT80 is the DVD/Reciever unit of the SC-HT80 System.

It's the same.

PS. Reinitialise at your own risk..

Panasonic line on this is....

"Re-initialise the unit as described. NB Do not attempt this if the unit has been modified as the change in system control information may result in the unit not playing back any discs!"

To initialise SC-HT80 (UK version).

Press 'STOP TUNE' on the unit and '>10' on the remote together.
