How do i check the gas part of my 3 way fridge is working?
Hi Steray. There's an ignition button on my fridge in my camper, i'm not sure whether to keep this on or not? it clicks when on. There isn't any way of seeing if there's a pilot light on etc.? In an hour and a half, the fridge still doesn't get cold? (havn't tried longer than that). The little freezer section in there got cold other day when i had it on the 12v setting and was driving, but doesn't get cold when its on the same setting, but engine is off? Not tried 240v, but not really concerned with that as will be on the move...
There should be a plastic 'see through'window in the bottom back corner of the fridge . Provided the pilot sized flame nozzle isn't blocked you should see the flame.You should also hear a faint 'Pop' as it lights.
Change the knob to the gas setting and hold it in whilst you operate the igniter, it can take a few seconds to ignite but if you have air in the pipes after changing a cylinder it will take a lot longer. Try purging as much air as you can through the cooker.
The 12v circuit will only operate when the alternator is producing more than 13.5 volts. This is to protect the vehicle battery from being drained.
