1993 Qualcast Punch Classic Model PS35s?

Is your model the Classic that has the QX system removable cutting cylinder unit? If so it is the later type motor which although you may be able to remove the brushes doesn't mean Qualcast supply them- which they don't

The earlier motor brushes were designed to be replaced, but are now no longer available from Qualcast, and as it's Qualcasts own motor you won't find alternative suppliers. Only hope is finding a Qualcast agent with some old stock.

Thanks for your input. I have the original receipt in my hand now. 7 April 1993, Punch Classic 35s, motor type T56166. Certainly this is not a sealed motor as I have one of the brushes in my pocket. Can't I just clean up the commutator? Brushes seem ok. This motor was used in the PC30/s and PC35/s. Noise certificate is signed '1992'. I know nothing about motors really but it seems a shame to throw away the machine if I can fix it easily.

It is an Atco/qualcast motor as they were and still are made in-house at Stowmarket.

I don't recognise the model PS35s. The Classic electric range didn't start production until 1995, so I can't be a Classic electric punch of 1993 vintage. If it is the previous model known as the Punch EP35S, then as with pretty much all Qualcast motors you won't get brushes as they are a sealed for life motor. Unfortunatly new motors are now obsolete, so it's a case of obtaining a second-hand mower and robbing the motor or ringing around dealers to see whether they have any old stock on their shelves (unlikely). The last price I have for one is £42.00 plus vat
