The problem you are with the blinds going up unevenly is that the one or more of the pull up strings on the side going up first has tangled itself around the take up rod/spool and is therefore shorter than the other strings. The side that goes up first may also NOT go down all the way either. If you dig into and straighten out the tangles at the top (take up rod/spool) all the strings will be back to their factory set length and should work like new. Shortening the strings on the side that goes up last (as suggested) will only change your problem to one where neither side of the blind will go down all the way because the support strings are now all too short. (but I must admit both sides will indeed be even with that short sighted fix, at least till another tangle happens or is undone) You can practically eliminate tangling by religiously using the same side of the cord loop to pull-up and the opposite side of the cord loop to lower the blind. That way they wont have the opportunity to get tangled. This is a very common problem I think Hunter Douglas should have corrected with a physical pull-up/lower directional restricter of some sort years ago.
