Mend Porter-Cable 548 Cable Saw Switch

porter cable saw switch?

i have an old rockwell bayonet saw , #548 , with an off on switch and i want to change this switch to a veriable speed switch from a porter cable saw , same saw, is this easy to do and can it be done

Unfortunately, it cannot be done. The Porter-Cable Bayonet Saw has a different field and the Power Tool field is not wired for a variable speed. They don't make another field that is interchangeable.
