I have 18.5hp Huskee lawn tractor with Briggs&Stratton engine. Loose bolt vibration caused a corner of the sump base to break.Can this type of metal be welded?
Material is cast iron which usually I'd recommed against welding,but the position of repair should not cause the usual distortion problems.A stick arc welder using a high nickle content rod should suffice.local blacksmith/welder used to welding cast iron fences would be my recommendation.
