Can anyone advise me please? I have recently had french doors fitted and have discovered drainage holes in the bottom of the doors; but also 3 holes in the top! Is that normal or is it a mistake from the factory?
neighbors might be in the rebate or just not done , drain caps should only be fitted if the holes are exposed to high winds witch would hold any moisture back otherwise they are for dressing up the slot

Cheers Paul. I have never noticed these top holes before. My neighbours french doors don't have them (Fitted over 2 years ago). Is it a recent modification? Industry standard?
I notice you can purchase plastic plugs to cover these drainage holes, Why would they be useful?

the drainage holes at the bottom would not drain if ther were no holes at the top ,its called pressure equalization. a bit like water will stay in a straw while you hold your finger on the top but empties when you let the air in the top

Thanks for you're interest Shaun. My main concern is the holes in the top, which are open and exposed to the elements. Wouldn't rain water get in etc. I understand drainage holes hidden underneath at the bottom but not on top. Is it normal to have them on top exposed to the rain?

yes it is normal,they alow any water that gets into the chanel of your frame to drain away rather than build up and come into your house.hope this helps
