dvd reader is not recognized by pc. Light comes on but no regognition ?

Sounds like your IDE cable, check the connection to the motherboard and the back of the dvd reader, if it still doesn't work try a different cable (1p off ebay), also check your jumper settings, if this is the only drive then you need to set the jumper to MASTER, hope this helps
