When switching on the CH, the boiler makes the usual noise but then does not fire up the burners for CH (pilot light is still visible though). My domestic hot water from the tap is okay though. Any thoughts on what the problem is and can i fix it?
yes mate have a look at the mico switch on the diverter valve i had the same problem i got a new micro switch from maplin cost me £2.50 and all is working fine now

hi my overflow keeps on leaking as soon as the heating comes on. I have changed the overflow valve and still leaking. DHW fine. Water works fine but need to top up with water to use heating.

my heating keeps comeing on even when i have removed the links between 3 and 4 ..i have even removed the timer....the only way i can stop the heating from come on is to switch the heating switch off...

Had this problem some years ago. The domestic hot water demand valve sticks and inhibits the central heating option. The plunger (which operates the micro switch) needs releasing then lubricate with a little oil. Its awkward to reach but nothing requires disconnecting. switch off first.
