bolier pump grinding?

i switched the water of to fit a sink,i have re supplied the water and switched the boiler back on to find the pump making a grinding noise,i drained the radiators which seemed to solve the problem but now the overheat switch trips after having the boiler on for only a few seconds ,also the pump seems to be grinding agin
the boiler is a baxi solo rs
