my abs light has come on in my ford galaxy does anyone know wot it means?

it could be a number of things ranging from, dirt between a wheel sensor and its relucter causing it to lose signal. a failed wheel sensor, damaged, corroded or loose wiring anywhere in the system, to a faulty abs pump unit or even a fuse or relay
sorry it probably dosen't help much, but there is some comfort in the fact that even if you don't get it looked at normal breaking won't be affected, it just becomes a non abs system
