Unwinding an overwound watch?

Hi, I inadvertantly overwound a 1930's wristwatch that i'd recently acquired. I did try the both the winding forward & the 1/4 turn advice (neither worked for me); has anyone else got any different ideas?

A jeweler is the best recourse, however, sometimes on older watches a thin needle can release the escapement gear ratchet and with finger pressure carefully unwind the mainspring.

unfortunately you cant unwind a overwound watch coz you cant overwind them it'll be one of two things that has happened either the hairspring which drives the watch is broken or its tangled u will only be able to get it fixed by a watch repairer it'll need parts sorry

Sounds to me that you will have to take to a decent jewellers/watch repairer as I don't believe it is possible for you to resolve this.
