Spray carb cleaner availiable from any good motor factor's(see yellow p)does an exelent job but basically celluose thinners is as good,care must be taken to not disolve any plastic/rubber/neoprene componant's.As to the starting problem,it's not unusual to have difficultys after fitting new ring's,Did you break the glaze on the bore?anyway,try spraying a "SMALL!!"amount of easystart into the carb intake.dont overdo the gas,.This may be enough to kick it into life
