Sump access hotpoint aquarius 1000 washing machine?

Something is wrong with my Aquarius 1000 washing machine. the power is on and the settings all work. The drum is not spinningbut i have checked the belt and its pretty much perfect, as old as it may be. could you shed any light as to what the problem may be. i dont know much about it but i suspect it may be the motor that spins the drum which has the problem. if you could get back to asap that would be great. thank you

Pressumably I need to take off the door seal too, by disconecting it from the drum housing.

Undo the screws!
Unplug the machine, and remove the lid. Now open the washing machine door and remove the two retaining screws which hold the door lock receptor. Now remove the soap draw, there's 4 screws here that need to be removed. The front top panel should then hinge off to the right, if you have dials I think you will need to remove them. Then you'll see 3 screws at the top of the pressed steel panel which will also need to be removed. Word of caution leave the middle one in for the time being. Finally there are 2 or3 more screws behind the bottom plastic kick panel. This panel needs to be gently prized off from the bottom. Remove the exposed screws and the middle screw from the top of the pressed steel panel. You can now see the drum housing. Remove support bar across the front of the drum. The drum housing is held together with sprung steel clips which prize off again.
Refiting is the reverse of what you have done.
