Mend Nintendo DS Lite Switch Plug Help

MY DS LITE GOES ON THEN GOES OFF AFTER A FEW SECONDS ???

WHEN I SWITCH MY DS ON IT GOES ON THEN AFTER A FEW SECONDS IT GOES OFF, AND WHEN I PLUG IN THE CHARGER THE GREEN LIGHT FLICKERS AS WELL. PLEASE HELP !!!
