Reformatted 64M smart media memory?

I have a 64M smart media memory (Lexar) for my digital camera (Olympus, D450). Somehow when I used the SIIG 8-to-1 reader/writer to transfer the picture contents from the memory to the computer, the smart media memory cannot be used anymore. The digital camera does not recognized that there is a memory inserted into the camera. I think it get reformatted. Is there a way to recover or repair the smart media memory? I have several of these SSFDC and they all cannot be used for my digital camera. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
