1. On a wall I have put about 4 coats of Dulux matt white emulsion on a previously dark coloured emulsioned wall. The finish I am getting is an aged crackled appearance (lots of small mostly vertical lines) which shows the darker colour through.
How do I get rid of this? Is there a sealer(?) or something similar I can put on so I get a smooth finish?
2. I have another dark wall in the same room I want to cover with white emulsion - is there something I should do first to the dark colour to prevent this happening again?
I have put some wallpaper up yesterday and it seems to have a lot of bubbles in it what causes this

Make sure you leave enough time between coats as well. I made a similar mistake in my hall. I was covering a dark colour with magnolia and rushed the coats, it went all crackled and looked like that distressed finished you sometimes get on furniture!

Try using something called gluttenglas or a good stain stopper.
u can get these from most decorating shops and just ask them (dont use b&q or any other diy shops coz they just look at you blank)
hope it helps
