i am tryuing to replace a sump gasket on a 94 1800 turbo diesel escort i have removed the visinle bolts all around the outside of the sump but uit will not budge is there any thing i can do to get it off is there any bolts in the gearbox etc
Hello chris if you take the metal plate that is bolted to the gearbox bell housing right next to the sump then look up at the sump with a light you should see several bolts you have missed when all the bolts are undone you may need to put a piece of wood against the sump then hit the wood slightly with a hammer this should loosen your sump allowing you to remove it.
