How can I fix my Mathmos Lava Lamp - Ross Lovegrove edition?

My lava lamps metal spring coil which normally sits evenly inside the base of the glass bottom has come loose and is now sitting at 45 degrees - causing the lamp to malfunction - it does not heat up correctly so the lava does not flow as it should?

Is there a way to reset this metal coil?

to fix a lamp that has many small tiny microscopic balls of wax that wont reabsorb back into the larger balls of wax you need to first - shut off your lamp. next- let the lamp cool for 2-3 hours. then- after the lamp has cooled ENTIRELY - turn the lamp on and stay close by. AS SOON as the lamp releases a plum of lava - or at the FIRST SITE of lava movement - turn off the lamp and cool again for 2-3 hours. IF YOU DID IT RIGHT -the lava should cool up inside the globe - and not at the bottom. then after it has cooled ENTIRELY- turn the lamp back on. this should take care of 85-90 percent of the small tiny wall balls. repeat the process to remove any extra small balls of wax. repeat the process IF/AS SOON as you see the tiny wax balls reappear - as you might need to repeat the process more than once to remove ALL of the tiny wax balls. THIS TAKES TIME AND PATIENCE. the wax needs to be heated up just enough for the small tiny wax balls to reabsorb back into the larger wax balls - thus turning off the lamp AS SOON as you see the first movement of wax and then restarting the lamp after it has cooled completly. the tiny wax balls form because the lamp was either shaken or knocked over while it was hot and turned on and the small balls of wax wont reabsorb back into the larger balls of wax because they are too small and too hot - even when the lamp cools - they still remain seperated from the larger blobs. hope this helps - repeat the process over and over for crystal clear lamps that look like new!

Mine did that also, I just left it on until it had all melted then gently tilted the (hot) glass slowly around until it fell back into place.

What i want to know is how to get rid of the really tiny bubbles that have got trapped in the lava, and the tiny bits of lava that don't mix back into the rest of the lava after mine got knocked over.
