Mend Singer 457 Gear Presumably Adjust

I have a Singer 457, how do I fix Timing?

I have recently replaced the top bevel gear on my Singer 457. Now presumably I will have to adjust the timing. Please does anyone know how to do this?

Open the top cover of Machine and open top gear who is fexed in the axe principale and put a paper under the Presser foot turn the M/c and adjest the gear until see the needle make asmall hole. make sure the M/c doing the bascule whene the needle up.
