The door wouldn’t close so therefore no programmes could be started?

Miele 2670 washing machine...less than 1 year old and bought through currys auction website.

Message on digital screen displays "i close door please"; however when the door is closed the machine presumes it's still open, as the door lamp comes on.

This fault occurred 10-15 mins into 40º thirty minute wash.

I opened door via pulldown door release and drained all water and cleaned and replaced filter, but message still appears. Also switched off at mains but no use.

So I can't use the machine currently it seems to have crashed; suspect possible power surge due to thunderstorms, looking for advice on what else to do as have tried all things the manual suggests to sort it relating to door not opening.
