Mend Ford Escort Encore Rear Light

rear screen heater light and rear fog light on whilst driving ford escort?

i have a 1.4 1997 ford escort encore.
sometimes both the rear heater and rear fog light come on whilst driving.
when this happens the rear heater or rear fog light does not work additionaly the rear screen wiper does not work.

any ideas? thanks

will possibly be poor earth on tailgate [they earth through hinges] on one i owned i ran a seperate earth wire from in tailgate earth point back through to earth point near o/s/r light unit. this cured mine.you could try cleaning up contact block pins, make sure the top ones are free to push in.and bottom ones clean and not melted as they sometimes do!
