how can I fix kenmore 70 series,spins it rocks and rolls?

I just paid $65 to find out how to fix this on my 70 series model 110 direct-drive washing machine.
I took the machine apart from the back, (wrong!), and found a spring hanging down from the tub bracket. I did not see where it had connected.
It turns out that the eyelet had rusted away on the rear frame of the machine near the floor.
The repairman drilled a new hole in the metal next to the rusted out spot, and that fixed the problem

I have one also and it does just as you say and has for many years. For those of you that think our loads are just out of balance, your wrong! Although after 10 years, it now leaks water and I'm looking on the web to see if others have had this problem too.
