Zanussi Jetstream Progress 1400?

Hi, my washing machine won't spin properly. When it goes into spin mode, the drum turns slowly and makes a mechanical "churning" noise and won't go into a fast spin.
Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be?
I have checked for blockages and there doesn't seem to be any blockages. The main display doesn't appear to be displaying any error code either. I have tried it on different power settings 800, 900 etc but it doesn't seem to make any difference. I suspect there may be something stuck inside the drum, but wanted to check first before calling out the engineer.
