how to fix ford fiesta ghia x 1997 r reg. door warning light?

Hi Chris, the door open warning doesn't get its signal from the same door switches as puts on the interior light, it uses micro switches inside the door latch assembly, the ony way to find out is either go onto the control box behind the trim panel at the base of the drivers "A" pilar and do resistance tests or take the door trims off and remove the security guards around the latch assemblies and physically check the micro switches.
