Mend Rover 200 1.4is 16v Handbrake Pull Brake

how can i fix my handbrake rover 200 1.4is 16v?

i pull my hand brake up and it clicks about 14 times i tighten it up from wear the hand brake is so its about 3 clicks so it passes an mot but its to tight it almost lockes the wheels so what do i do ?

you need to back the hand brake cable of the remove the rear brake drums and ajust the rear brakes untill the drum will just turn freely if there is a lip on the drum make syre u remove that before adjusting the brakes
