Our shower cubicle has leaked into the kitchen by means of badly grouted tiles. These have been removed and the plaster bonding behind is sodden. How can we speed up the process of drying? Should i treat the wall behind the tiles with anything? Any advice greatfully received!
use a humidiefier, or simply open the window and air the room,not if its raining though.if its plaster board replace it with a waterproof aqua board.by fixing it to the stud work or use dri-wall adhesive over block work. if the plaster manage's to stay when dry,coat it with a thick coat of unibond[pva based glue]to put a waterproof coat over the area to stop it happening again.goodluck

why dont you get that plastic boards that look like marbel, it comes in 11ft x10ins and it goes together like floor boards" its very easy to put up , you just cut it with a sharp blade , no water gets through it , i have it in my shower , no problems with it" you would put it up in a half hour,
