FIAT SEICENTO 1100CC AIR-CONDITION PROBLEM?

HI I OWN A FIAT SEICENTO 1100CC/AUG.2000 MODEL.
THE AIR-CONDITION IS NOT WORKING AND THE MECHANIC SAID TO ME THAT SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE EL.WIRES THAT DO NOT GIVE POWER. CAN ANYONE TELL ME IF THIS IS DANGEROUS AND HOW MUCH WILL IT COST ME??
