My Countax K14 Ride on Mower will not start! I have tested the starter motor on the bench and it works perfectly. I thought it may have been the starter solenoid so replaced it, that didn't work either. The brake/clutch switch makes the light on the dash go on/off when operated so I have assumed that this is also working. Any ideas would be much appreciated as the grass is getting long now
sometimes the mower will not start unless the clutch is depressed, and the brake is on, these things could be dirty and not connecting properly

Have had a similar problem over the last few months. Solenoid renewed and just get a clicking when key is turned. Had to get local countax dealer to take a look. They charged the battery! Although the starter motor was turning it was not getting up to a fast enough speed to engage with flywheel. Sounds too easy, but worth a go if you have not already tried charging the battery.
Why does the grass grow twice as fast when the mower is out of operation?

The cutter deck switch is also a possibility - and your comment about the dash lights is good logic - however, the switches are double-pole, so all it proves is that the switch is being actuated, not that it's workng on BOTH poles.
