EVERYONE PLEASE HELP my speedfight 2 50cc ran out of oil last week, its completely dead and wont start and now it sounds different when it tries to start, i also have a water cooled speedfight 2 50cc engine at home is it expensive and what sholud i do, the bike has only got 3,500km on the clock, and a few friends said that all the pistons and engines blow as these bikes need oil like blood, anyone please help me,

i think the bike may have seezed but not 100% certain strip the enguin in part and look at the barrel for gorrze and the piston for marks / scrapes

The oil used in a 2 stroke engine is indeed its life blood - as well as preventing metal to metal contact oil does a significant amount of cooling, too. What has happened is this: The piston, going up and down in its cylinder very quickly, has expanded to the extent that it has jammed in place. This will have caused damage to the piston but there is a chance that the cylinder barrel may be ok - but there again it may not. I think the best thing to do is to remove the cylinder head, followed by the barrel - make sure you plug the crankcase mouth with rag as it comes away so no debris drops in there. Look carefully in the barrel - there must be no deep score marks down the side - likewise with the piston. If the barrel is marked it will need to be rebored and a new oversize piston fitted. If the barrel is ok you'll probably get away with just a new piston - it just depends on how your luck is. Expect a piston and a rebore to cost around £60 complete with new gaskets.
