My two month old Homelite chainsaw now has no power. It now bogs down while cutting even moderate size trees. Seems unable to reach the high rpms it once did. What could be causing this?
as long as you own one of the newer homelite chainsaws say the last 5 or 6 years you will always have problems. it is a problem chainsaw and thats all there is to it. i put a oregan bar and chain on it and solved that problem. i taped the on off switch in the on position now it doesn't pop off when you are trying to start it. keep the chain adj clean and oiled now that works. add one extra washer on the bar oil tank cap now that dosen't leak. on and on and on. you must have patience to own this chainsaw other wise make a boat anchor out of it.

The problem is, you bought a POS chainsaw. Mine does the same thing! Before spending anymore money on repairs, put that one in the garbage, and go buy a Husqvarna!

saws with much use sometimes carbon up the spark arresters to the point where the engine is waiting to exhale. if you were running waaaay too oily, it might contribute to this.. maybe try to disassemble the muffler and look at the arrest screen.
