My Ariston AWD1200SUK is rattling - have the bearings gone??

My Ariston AWD1200SUK is rattling when spinning - have the bearings gone?? If they have, is it an easy repair job?

Standard front loader bearing check on any make. Open door slide hand through and pull upwards on inner drum. If there is any play (clunky movement) between inner and outer drum bearings have worn. In extreme cases belt will come off on spins. Not the easiest job for the average DIYer unless they are into car repairs.
