why does 6 cd changer keep changing cds and not play one?
Hello my name is James Wiles I have a 1997 Ford F-150 truck that has a problem with cd player in the rear of the truck behind the driver side.I have never had any problems with it before it has always played perfect.I got in the truck one morning to play a cd but when it was turned on it just keeps shifting cds and never stops to play one. The rest of the radio works fine.should I disconnect the battery and see it will reprogram itself.Everything is clean inside and has been well taken care of.It is a play pretty truck not a work truck.I have older trucks to work with so this truck has never been bounced around with.I would appriciate any info you could give me If it is something I need to to send in to have repaired give a price and I will send it in for repair or replacement.My Email is jwiles@islc.net
Try and unplug the battery from the car leave off for a few hours then reconnect ,if not check cables radio to changer.
If you are smart enough to get to the cd player's optical lens clean it with a Qtip just lightly dabbed with rubbing alcohol.If this doesnt work ,take to dealer.

sounds like the lens need cleaning if you havent tried that yet try to get a wet and dry lens cleaner as they are better than the standard dry ones
