Seat Alhambra 1.9tdi Auto Gearbox Problem?

Hi,Can anyone help!
I have a Seat Alhambra 1.9 Tdi auto, and recently i had it serviced at the local garage who changed oil, air, fuel filters. A week later i was driving and my engine management light came on stating my alternator was not working and my battery power indicator went from normal to low, i carried on driving and it seems to have fixed it self. Another week later i was driving on the motor-way and on climbing a small gradient i put my foot down on the accelator and the rev's just shoot up over 4000, without extra pick-up. The car still ran ok at gradual accelaration but now a couple of weeks later the car does not move at all, the engine is running ok but there is no response when i put the car in any of the gears.The next day i started the car and put it nto reverse and it moved, i put it into drive, it moved again and then it stoped after a few seconds. Please please please can any one help!
