How do I copy a C.D.R on to my computer?

I do have a CD rewriter and a D.V.D player on my computer, but when I put my disc to be copied in my CD rewriter all I get is a flashing little disc next to my mouses arrow and nothing seems to happen. You can probably tell that I am a silver serfer.

If your computer has a CD Writer and the software that can do it the answer is yes but only you know if it has because I can't see it.
