I haven't used my outside tap for several months, I tried to use it the other day but no water comes out. I have pulled my washing machine out and had a look at the pipes but i can't figure out the problem.
just fixed my own literaly 30 mins ago using this forum.
Underneath the bulk of the tap body there is a hexagon shape part of the tap body that fits to the plate fitted to the wall and the mains pipe, undo this part of the tap and reseat the washer, push inside the tap under the washer to make sure the return valve now moves up an down........ sorted

the washer might be jamed in the tap open it fully then tap the side with a hammer to unseat it

maybe the check valve has jammed or the internal tap washer.

faulty tap seat/spindle.kill water supply,unscrew big hex under tap handle,remove and clean .alternatly follow first step then fit new tap
