HI can any one tell me about the speedo on a 1997 escort 1.8 si .The mileometer works but the speedo wont. Is it part electric/ part cable as i can see the cable going to the gearbox.

Hi Phil, the speedo head is all mechanical on your car, there is an electronic pick-up on the gearbox where the speedo cable enters but that only feed the engine ecu, you will have to get a new speedo head ebay about £15
