my bike does not accelerate great in first gear, it backfires and misses, you have to slip the clutch to get it to go. once up the revs it goes quite well
the reason might be because every 10,000 mile u need new pistons and these need running in 50mph for 500 miles if you dont it can damsge your bike life and speed

try cleaning the carb and check the jets are clean and the right size
