Mend Britony 80/100 Combi Boiler Intermittent Hot Water

Britony 80/100 combi?

When I switch on my heating or water, it works for a while and then switches off. The shower runs hot for a while, cold then hot again. I've just had it serviced but the corgi guy was not sure? I was away for 4 months without using it, if this is any help.Thanks.
