Wish I could help you. I have the PDV 0700 also. I took to a very good repair person who said nobody he knows of fixes them. The cost is higher than the replacement, and Polaroid does not offer parts.
If you call polaroid (look up number on the web), they will tell you not parts are provided. If out of warranty, they will trade in for a new one and charge $95.
My problem is the power receptor has a short, so it works fine on battery but when watching with a ac or dc power, any bump will kill the power temporarily.
