Faulty tape cassette player?

When a cassette tape is inserted into the machine, it will not play. The tape cassette will not go around. Any ideas please.

The make of the cassette player is Panasonic.

have you checked the belts? the drive wheels need belts on them. also if the things that come up thru the cassette wheels are on the spindles tight , dont' know what theyr'e called, the plastic thigns that catch the casete wheels.

remove screw and open it. clean whatever there is to clean..you can use air pressure, cotton swabs...) check belts...(i find it hard to access belts)...if your player has not been used for long time it needs to break-in...use all the switches (fast forward, rewind, play...mute..) repeatedly...once it works it will still improve in time of use..like mine...

Hi there

It is most likely be the drive belt is broken.

Check you can hear the motor turning when you press play.

A belt cost a few pence.
